Ingredients:
For the Dough:
- 2 cups whole wheat flour
- ½ tsp salt
- ¾ cup water (adjust as needed)
- 1 tbsp oil
For the Peri Peri Filling:
- 2 tbsp butter (softened)
- 1 tbsp peri peri seasoning (store-bought or homemade)
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- ½ tsp red chili flakes (optional, for extra spice)
- 1 tsp lemon juice
- 1 tbsp chopped coriander (optional)
Instructions:
Step 1: Prepare the Dough
- In a mixing bowl, combine whole wheat flour and salt.
- Gradually add water and knead into a soft, smooth dough.
- Add oil and knead for another 2-3 minutes.
- Cover and let it rest for 15–20 minutes.
Step 2: Make the Peri Peri Butter
- In a small bowl, mix butter, peri peri seasoning, garlic powder, red chili flakes, lemon juice, and coriander.
- Set aside.
Step 3: Roll & Cook the Paratha
- Divide the dough into equal-sized balls.
- Roll out one ball into a thin circle.
- Spread a thin layer of peri peri butter over it.
- Fold it into a square, triangle, or roll it up and coil it, then flatten and roll again.
- Heat a tawa (griddle) and cook the paratha on medium heat until golden brown, flipping and applying oil or butter as needed.
Step 4: Serve & Enjoy!
- Serve hot with yogurt, mint chutney, or even extra peri peri sauce for an extra kick!
